Arcep sides with Free in dispute with SFR over co-financed network access terms

Monday 4 January 2021 | 14:50 CET | News
France's telecom authority Arcep has ruled in favour of Free in a dispute between the operator and SFR FTTH over the conditions for access to the fibre networks currently under deployment in AMII areas. The latter mainly cover mid-size towns where SFR FTTH is investing without the help of public subsidies. In mid-2020, Free sought Arcep's mediation demanding that SFR FTTH changed its position on a number of issues. In particular, the operator argued that the regulator should enforce a cap to the wholesale charges payable to SFR FTTH in deployment areas with a co-financing agreement in place.
