Arcep to adapt copper pricing to support fibre migration

Arcep has launched a public consultation on copper access rates, aimed at encouraging the migration towards fibre. Arcep said it aims to amend the tariff models in order to set a long-term framework, allowing for certainty during the transition period to fibre. It has already conducted studies on this transition and the role copper pricing plays and is now seeking further market feedback on the economic model to encourage the transition. In particular it's looking at a geographic model, where certain areas could be subject to different rates depending on how far along they are in the
