Arcep welcomes agreement on European roaming, net neutrality

French telecom regulator Arcep has welcomed the policy agreement reached between the European Parliament, Council and Commission on the Connected Continent legislative package. The regulations include the eradication of roaming charges in June 2017 and provisions on net neutrality. Arcep said the agreement marks the first step towards achieving Europe's digital agenda. The French government announced on 18 June that it was preparing a bill on the digital economy that must implement specific provisions in the European text, particularly those giving Arcep the ability to be the guarantor of net
