Argentina, Chile activate agreement to scrap roaming charges

The presidents of Chile and Argentina, Sebastian Pinera and Mauricio Macri, have finally agreed to activate a bilateral trade agreement that includes a commitment to remove roaming charges between the two countries by 2020, reports Diario Financiero. The approval comes after Chile's telecommunications undersecretary Pamela Gidi met Silvana Myriam Giudici, the head of Argentina's communications regulator Enacom, last year to give the final go ahead for the elimination of international roaming charges between the neighbouring countries.
