Argentina mobile subs up 3% to nearly 64 mln in 2016

Argentinian mobile subscriptions continued growing to reach a total of 63.7 million at the end of 2016, around 3 percent more than a year earlier, according to the latest update from communications regulator Enacom. The prepay segment dominated the market, account for 88 percent of subscriptions, with penetration standing at 146.2 percent, compared to 22.8 percent for fixed telephony and 16.6 percent for fixed broadband. Fixed internet accesses grew to 7.2 million from 6.7 million a year earlier, while pay-TV subscribers climbed 2 percent year on year to 9.2 million at the end of December,
