Arista files countersuit against Cisco

Tuesday 26 January 2016 | 09:40 CET | News
Networking equipment company Arista Networks has filed a counterclaim against its larger rival Cisco for allegedly allowing competitors to use an industry standard feature for command-line interfaces that control how switching and routing devices are programmed, then asserting copyright protection over the technology after competitors were locked into the technology, the Wall Street Journal reports. Arista also alleges that Cisco unlawfully increased the price of its support services to clients who used a combination of equipment from Cisco and competing products.
