Around 12% of French subscribe to SVoD

Wednesday 13 January 2016 | 20:42 CET | News
Around 12 percent of French internet users subscribe to an SVoD service at present and 65 percent know of it, according to a recent survey by Mediametrie. The market researcher also found that about half of the 30 percent of French internet users (aged 6+) who have watched VoD, have tested SVoD at home or elsewhere. Netflix, launched in France in September 2014, now holds 62 percent of the market. Its customers cite unlimited consumption and a legal alternative to piracy. The other main player is Canalplay.
