Arris to develop new 'Proteus' set-tops for Telefonica

Friday 9 September 2016 | 14:29 CET | News
Arris International has announced a contract to develop a range of new set-top boxes for Telefonica. The new, international set-top portfolio will be called "Proteus" and will include devices supporting both wired and wireless, HD and UHD services, to be deployed with Telefonica's satellite DTH, cable and IPTV technologies across Europe and Latin America. Arris said the new product family will have a modular, low-maintenance design, simplifying deployment for all Telefonica businesses around the world. The Proteus STBs will begin live roll-out in 2017.
