Aspe named Mexican undersecretary of communications

Monica Aspe Bernal has been appointed new undersecretary of Mexico's communications and transport ministry (SCT) in place of Jose Ignacio Peralta, who stepped down earlier this year. Aspe was previously general director of the Radio and Television National Chamber (CIRT) and head of the SCT's Information and Knowledge Society, where she coordinated the "Mexico Connected" programme, which has to date connected 65,000 sites and public spaces to the internet.
