Asus launches Android Go ZenFone at Best Buy

Asus has announced a new Android Go phone called the ZenFone Live. The 5.5-inch entertainment-focused smartphone will launch first in the US through retailer Best Buy, for USD 109.99.  

The ZenFone Live features an 18:9 display in a compact body with high-capacity 3000mAh battery. It's equipped with an 8MP rear camera with phase-detection autofocus, 5 megapixel front camera, facial recognition for unlocking the device, dual SIM slots and a microSD card slot for adding up to 2TB of extra storage. The phone runs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor, 1 GB RAM and 16 GB storage.

Asus Q1 profit down on costs of EU competition case

Asus reported revenues for the first quarter of TWD 90.1 billion, down 8 percent from a year earlier. After a 9 percent fall in operating costs, operating profit rose 7 percent year-on-year to TWD 4.1 billion. Net profit was still down 35 percent to TWD 2.4 billion, after Asus took a provision of EUR 65 million for the EU's competition investigation in the consumer electronics market.
