AT&T, Deutsche Telekom consider alternative deal - report
AT&T and Deutsche Telekom have discussed an alternative deal if AT&T's proposed acquisition of T-Mobile USA collapses, reports the Wall Street Journal citing unnamed sources familiar with the matter. The alternative deal would involve creating a JV to pool network assets from the two mobile carriers. The sources said that the talks were not advanced and were still on the back burner.

The German government, which controls 32 percent of Deutsche Telekom, is increasingly concerned that the sale of T-Mobile USA to AT&T will collapse on US anti-trust objections, reports the Financial Times.
