AT&T launches LTE services
AT&T has launched its first commercial LTE services, in parts of Chicago, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and Atlanta. Customers can choose from four LTE-compatible devices to access the faster broadband service: the HTC Jetstream tablet, the AT&T USBConnect Momentum 4G, the AT&T Mobile Hotspot Elevate 4G, and the AT&T USBConnect Adrenaline. AT&T said it plans to expand the service to at least 15 markets and 70 million Americans by the end of the year. Outside LTE areas, the company offers coverage with its HSPA+ network.

FCC asks AT&T for more info on LTE plans

The FCC has asked AT&T for more information on its proposed acquisition of T-Mobile USA after the company inadvertently disclosed information that it could expand its network at a much lower cost than the acquisition. Clearwire plans LTE roll-out

US Wimax operator Clearwire announced plans to roll out LTE Advanced in large cities. The company has already been testing LTE and achieved speeds of 120Mbps in its 2.5GHz band spectrum.
