Worldwide revenues for the augmented reality and virtual reality (AR/VR) market are expected to reach USD 162 billion in 2020 from 5.2 billion this year, representing a CAGR of 181.3 percent, the latest report from IDC revealed. Growth will be boosted by powerful smartphones powering inexpensive VR headsets, priming the consumer market for new paid and user generated content-driven experiences.
