The Australian government announced plans to auction off the remaining 2x15 MHz of the 700 MHz digital dividend spectrum. The decision to hold a auction follows an application from Vodafone for 2x10 MHz of the spectrums by direct allocation. A subsequent consultation indicated strong market interest from other industry players, meaning a competitive process is required to allocate the frequencies.
