Australian govt awards AUD 20 million to test 5G-enabled services

The Australian government said it has awarded nearly AUD 20 million in funding to projects that will test and develop the use of 5G to boost business productivity. The Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Development said trials included a 5G remote controlled firefighting tanks, a 5G-enabled lifesaving pathology supply infrastructure for unmanned aircraft vehicles in remote and unserviceable locations, 5G-enabled livestock counting and 5G for Sydney Ferries.
