Australian smartphone sales slow ahead of 5G

Australians are increasingly buying wearable devices as smartphone sales slow, according to a research from Telsyte. The market researchers estimate 4.3 million smartphones were sold in Australia in H1, down 3.7 percent from the same time last year. Despite leading in market share (53 percent Android versus 47 percent Apple), Android sales during the period were down 7 percent, while Apple grew 2 percent.
