
NBN Co, the Australian company rolling out the National Broadband Network, expects over 9 million homes and businesses across Australia to be ready to connect to the nbn network and more than 4 million to have signed up for an nbn service by 2018. The forecasts are contained in the company’s first Corporate Plan published on 24 August.
At the end of the 3-year period, 4.4 million families and business owners are expected to be active on the network, which represent an eight-fold increase compared to August 2015. These users are expected to deliver a 10-fold increase in revenue to AUD 1.7 billion.
