NBN Co launches commercial FTTN product
NBN Co, the company rolling out Australia's national broadband network, announced the launch of its commercial Fibre to the Node (FTTN) product. The initial FTTN roll-out launched in Belmont, NSW, with NBN Co aiming to have 500,000 FTTN premises ready for service by mid-2016, rising to 3.7 million by mid-2018. More than 1.6 million homes and businesses are expected to be connected to the NBN Co network via FTTN technology by mid-2018. Overall, the company aims to connect a total of 8 million premises to the NBN network by 2020.

NBN Co, the company rolling out Australia's next-generation broadband network, added another 450,000 homes and businesses passed to its network in the second half of 2015. The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has issued a final decision granting authorisation to specific provisions within revised agreements between NBN Co and Optus.
