Austrian Green Party calls for check on Apple taxes paid

The Austrian Green Party suspects Apple generated revenues of EUR 1 billion in Austria over a ten-year period and asked the Finance Minister to check whether the appropriate taxes were paid by Apple in Austria, reports die Presse. The greens became active following the decision by the European Commission ordering Apple to pay additionally taxes of EUR 13 billion in Ireland, as a result of unfair state aid provided by the special tax agreement between Irish authorities and Apple. The Austrian Finance Minister said that no such preferential treatment is possible in Austria.
