Austrian Internet Ombudsman releases 2017 activity report

The Austrian Internet Ombudsman's dispute resolution and counseling centre received 3,219 complaints about e-commerce issues in 2017, the internet arbitrator said in its annual report for 2017. The Ombudsman said it was able to reach a resolution between consumers and companies in 54 percent of the arbitration cases it handled, while parties in the remaining cases still received "comprehensive support" from the ombudsman in their dispute. The total value of damages in the successfully resolved cases amounted to EUR 1.09 million.
