AWS, Telxius sign Marea undersea cable deal

Telefonica's infrastructure subsidiary Telxius has announced an agreement to give Amazon Web Services (AWS) capacity on its Marea submarine cable across the Atlantic Ocean. Under the terms of the indefeasible right of use (IRU) deal, AWS will have access to a fibre pair on the Marea cable system, connecting Virginia Beach in the US with Sopelana in Spain and to network hubs in Europe, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
