Axel Springer buys minority stake in NowThis

Axel Springer Digital Ventures has acquired a minority stake in social video news publisher NowThis Media. The New York startup produces short-form videos around trending stories, designed for mobile devices and distribution across social channels. It is particularly popular with those aged 18-34. Other investors in the startup include Oak Investment Partners, NBC, Lerer Hippeau Ventures and SoftBank Capital.
