Axiata eyes Bharti's Sri Lanka operations - report

Asian mobile operator group Axiata has approached Bharti Airtel to buy the latter's business in Sri Lanka, the Business Standard writes citing unnamed sources privy to the development. Axiata operates as Dialog Axiata in Sri Lanka and Bharti operates Airtel Lanka. Reportedly, Axiata has also approached Hutchison Telecommunications Lanka to acquire its operations. However, the two parties could not reach an agreement on the valuation of Hutch's Sri Lanka operations.
