Bahamas government to sell 52% Aliv stake sale by April

Friday 12 January 2018 | 12:15 CET | News
The government of the Bahamas is looking to finalise the sale of its 51.75 percent stake in mobile operator Aliv by April, reports local news site Tribune 242, citing government adviser Gowon Bowe. The government has now "agreed in principle" to sell its stake in the joint venture launched with Cable Bahamas Limited (CBL) at the end of 2016 when BTC's 16-year monopoly on mobile communications in the Bahamas came to an end. The report added that the government hopes to raise around USD 70 million from the sale.
