Barclays becomes biggest Ziggo shareholder

Monday 25 March 2013 | 11:27 CET | News
Barclays now holds a 14.2 percent stake in Ziggo, after finding itself unable to find enough bidders for the 20 percent stake it agreed to underwrite for Cinven and Warburg Pincus. The stake, worth GBP 600 million, makes Barclays Ziggo's biggest shareholder. Barclays agreed to underwrite the sale of 40 million Ziggo shares on behalf of Cinven and Warburg Pincus. Barclays agreed to guarantee the sale at EUR 25.05 a share, which paid EUR 713 million (GBP 607 million) for the stake it failed to sell.
