Barclays, Verifone agree UK m-commerce partnership

Barclays and VeriFone have announced a new m-commerce partnership in the UK. This will see the Barclays Pingit app integrated as an accepted payment method for retailers using Verifone's PAYware Ocius m-commerce gateway. Verifone and Barclays will look at extending the acceptance of Pingit via Verifone at physical retail and POS payment terminals in the future. More than GBP 1.6 billion has been transferred using Pingit to date, which currently has more than 2.7 million registered individual users, with over 70,000 businesses accepting payments via the app.
