BBC experiments with holographic TV images

The BBC announced that it's experimenting with holographic TV images. Cyrus Saihan, Head of Digital Partnerships at the UK broadcaster, said the BBC used existing technologies and simple techniques to explore holographic content. The device made provides "an extremely low-fi and low-cost way to assess how the 'floating' images of augmented and mixed reality devices, which aren't readily available for audience testing, might be used to view BBC content in the future", he said in a posting on the BBC Internet blog. This is part of wider plans to test new types of mixed and augmented reality,
