BBC pleased with strong audience for Top Gear

Alan Tyler, Acting Controller of BBC Entertainment Commissioning, confirmed that the first episode of the all-new Top Gear was the strongest launch episode of the show since 2013 with 6.4 million people tuning in. It was also the most watched programme on BBC Two amongst 16-34s last week, and has registered 1.75 million requests on iPlayer as of 06 June. The show secured a peak audience of 3.3 million.
