Beeline, Megafon confirms talks on Euroset

Russian mobile operator Vimpelcom, operating under the Beeline brand, confirmed its in talks with Megafon on their jointly owned retail chain Euroset. Vimpelcom said it is "evaluating options" for Euroset. 

Megafon also confirmed negotiations were underway, on possibly dividing up the chain between the two owners, according to Sergey Soldatenkov, the CEO of Megafon. A decision on the issue is expected to be taken within a month, reports Tdaily.ru.

The operators are expected to divide up the shops of the retail chain and incorporate them in their own retail networks. Beeline and Megafon each own 50 percent in Euroset.

MTS becomes largest mobile retail chain in Russia

The retail chain of the mobile operator MTS has become the largest in Russia, reports Tdaily.ru. The operator opened almost 300 shops in July-September, taking its total to 4,695 shops, including 1,550 shops working under the franchise principle.
