Svyaznoy could merge with Euroset - report

Owners of the Russian mobile retail chain Svyaznoy are negotiating with mobile operator Megafon's shareholders on the eventual launch of a new company uniting the shops of Svyaznoy and the mobile retail chain Euroset, reports Kommersant citing a source close to the mobile operator.

The new company would manage around 5,000 retail outlets – 2,700 shops of Svyaznoy and more than 2,000 shops belonging to Euroset.

Euroset currently owns 4,200 shops, which are expected to be divided between its two owners, mobile operators Beeline and Megafon. The operators have already signed a letter of intent on the issue, according to the report.
