Beeline Uzbekistan revenues up 8%, EBITDA falls 14% in Q3

Revenues of the mobile operator Beeline Uzbekistan rose to UZS 480 billion in the third quarter, up 8 percent from a year earlier. EBITDA dropped by 14 percent year-on-yea to UZS 255 billion, leading to a fall in the EBITDA margin to 53.1 percent from 66.5 a year ago. Parent company Vimpelcom said the drop in EBITDA was due to a provision of UZS 42.4 billion related to a court case; excluding this, the margin would have been 62.0 percent. The customer base decreased by 3 percent to 10.2 million, due to the launch of two new mobile operators in Uzbekistan this year.
