Belgacom CEO offers apology to parliament

Friday 18 October 2013 | 10:27 CET | News
Belgacom CEO Didier Bellens has offered his apologies to parliament, after a politically charged letter, De Tijd reports. Bellens sent a letter to the CD&V party chief Wouter Beke, complaining over comments by MP Roel Desyn and calling for "appropriate measures". Deseyn had criticised Belgacom's stance in the recent hacking attack on the operator's IT systems, which allegedly was originated by foreign intelligence agencies. The parliament had summoned Bellens for a hearing. The PS party termed Bellens' behaviour intimidation and inappropriate for the head of a state-owned company.
