Belgacom sells Scarlet NL to management

Thursday 13 March 2014 | 09:40 CET | News
Belgacom has sold the Dutch operations of its unit Scarlet to the local management. The buy-out led by Matthijs Kamp was completed in Q4 2013, Kamp said, but declined to provide further details. According to Belgacom's quarterly report, the company booked EUR 15 million in one-time costs in Q4 for writing off the Scarlet Netherlands activities. Belgacom acquired Scarlet, which is also active in Belgium, in November 2008 for EUR 175 million. The company offers quad-play services over DSL and fibre networks in the Netherlands.
