Belgacom tests Alcatel-Lucent VDSL vectoring

Belgacom announced that it's testing Alcatel-Lucent's new VDSL2 vectoring equipment. The joint development will help the Belgian operator offer broadband speeds of 50Mbps and higher. The company expects to be ready to offer the services from 2014. The work builds on the operator's Broadway strategy for broadband and maximising the use of existing fibre-optic infrastructure. Alcatel-Lucent's VDSL2 vectoring equipment will be available from late 2011, supporting speeds of 100Mbps and higher on copper networks.
