Belgian cable operators lose appeal on wholesale access

Mobistar has welcomed a decision by a court in Brussels rejecting an appeal from Nethys/Tecteo, Brutele and Numericable against the wholesale cable regulations. Mobistar said the court ruling supports its decision to become a fixed services provider on the cable networks. The operator started testing of the broadband and TV services on the Voo network late last year in the Charleroi area. The lost appeal by the cable operators in the French-speaking parts of Belgium follows an earlier defeat in a court appeal by Flemish cable operator Telenet.
