Belgian cable regulations clear competition council

Belgium's Competition Council has approved the analysis of the broadcast market produced by telecoms regulator BIPT and the regional media authorities VRM, CSA and Medienrat. The draft report was first published in December 2010. It names cable operators Telenet, Numericable, Tecteo and Brutele as dominant market parties and imposes ex ante regulations on the companies. The competition council approved the market analyses including the geographic market definitions along the operators' footprints and the product markets.
