Belgian fixed market worth EUR 656 million in Q1

The Belgian market for fixed communication services was worth EUR 656 million in the first quarter of 2014. Telenet was the largest provider with EUR 272 million in sales, followed by Belgacom with EUR 263 million, according to research by Telecompaper. Telenet was also the largest broadband provider with almost 1.44 million connections, followed by Belgacom with 1.25 million. The smaller cable operators Voo and Numericable had together almost 420,000 connections and just over 12 percent of fixed market revenues.
