Belgian football league delays rights decision - report

Tuesday 25 April 2017 | 09:58 CET | News
Belgium's top football league has delayed a decision on awarding broadcast rights for the next season after receiving 10 offers, Le Soir reports. At the deadline of 20 March for bids, the bidders were thought to include Voo, Telenet, Proximus, Eleven and Eurosport. The pay-TV channel Eleven was seen as the frontrunner, having already amassed rights to a number of foreign football leagues, according to the paper's sources. It would create a new channel to show the Pro League which could then be distributed by operators such as Proximus, Voo and Telenet.
