Belgian minister calls for free mobile internet at weekends

Belgian Telecom minister Alexander De Croo has called for free mobile internet at weekends, reports Datanews. The minister wants operators to offer several weekends of free internet this autumn in order to encourage more people to take advantage of the services. Only around 60 percent of Belgians currently use mobile data, according to De Croo, less than most other European countries. The government already launched a campaign in June aimed at stimulating mobile internet use.
