Belgian operators offer higher capex for tax end - report

Belgium's mobile operators have offered to invest EUR 15 million per year to 2019 if the Wallonia regional government withdraws its tax on mobile towers, L'Echo reports. The investment amount is above their standard capex and corresponds to what the government would have raised from the tax. In May the Constitutional Court already struck down the regional tax. As part of the proposed agreement with the region, Proximus, Orange and Base would set clear targets for improving coverage, especially in rural areas, and the government would work on discouraging municipalities from imposing their own
