Belgian privacy regulator calls for improvements in contact tracing decree

The Belgian Data Protection Authority has called for improvements in two draft decrees issued by the government on creating an app and a database to manage Covid-19 contact tracing. While Belgium is deploying a call centre first in May to start the tracing of people possibly exposed to the virus, the government wants to set up a legal framework for adopting digital platforms later as necessary.
