Belgian regulators confirm wholesale cable access rates

Belgian regulators have reached a final agreement on the prices for wholesale access to cable networks, the telecom regulator BIPT announced. In addition to BIPT, the decision was also subject to approval by the regional media regulators. It must now be cleared by the European Commission before taking effect. The tariffs were first set in 2013, but later revised to take account of new market developments. BIPT said the revised rates will make it cheaper for alternative operators to use cable networks for their own services. They will also benefit from reduced rates in the first two years, to
