Belgian telecom price increases drive inflation

Tuesday 1 August 2017 | 15:56 CET | News
The steady increase in prices for telecom services is driving above-average inflation in Belgium compared to neighbouring countries, Datanews reports. While overall inflation in Belgium in the second quarter was below the rate in neighbouring countries, inflation in the services sector was higher, at 1.9 percent. This is due largely to price increases for telecom services, which rose by 3.2 percent in Beglium, but were down by 3.2 percent in ngiehbouring countries.
