Bemobile says MNP could raise its market share to 30%

BeMobile says plans to introduce Mobile Number Portability (MNP) could raise its market share as high as 30 percent, taking customers from rivals Mascom and Orange, Mmegi reported. BeMobile, a wholly owned subsidiary of Botswana Telecommunications (BTL), entered the mobile phone market in 2008, ten years after Mascom and Orange. It has a market share of 16 percent, compared with Mascom's 53 percent and Orange's 31 percent.
