Berlin court rules 16 Apple warranty clauses inadmissible

The regional court in Berlin has declared sixteen clauses in Apple's manufacturer's warranty inadmissible, following a complaint filed by the Federation of German consumer organisations (vzbv) against Apple Distribution International. Vzbv had considered that the corporation massively restrict its liability for faulty products, which causes the customer unwarranted disadvantage, and thus is inadmissible. The court ruled that all the clauses in question were inadmissible; eleven clauses regarding the one-year hardware warranty and five clauses regarding the extended warranty at extra cost
