Bhutan Telecom picks Ericsson for 5G roll-out

Tuesday 21 September 2021 | 15:48 CET | News
Ericsson won a contract to handle Bhutan Telecom's 5G rollout. The contract covers a 5G Non-Standalone (NSA) deployment spanning Ericsson Radio System products, including Ericsson Spectrum Sharing. It also encompasses software upgrades in Ericsson Cloud Packet Core, Cloud Unified Data Management and Policy, Cloud IMS, and OSS/BSS to add support for 5G NSA, while paving the way to the future introduction of 5G Standalone (SA) support. 5G services are expected to be rolled out in Bhutan in the last quarter of this year.
