
BICS finds router software hacked

Belgacom has released further details of its ongoing investigation into the hacking attack on its systems. The Belgian company said its controls found that the software on a router at its wholesale international unit BICS had been tampered with during the recent attack. The operator is continuing the investigation and remediation efforts, in cooperation with external experts and the public prosecutor's investigators. The regulator BIPT and the Privacy Commission have also been informed of its progress. Belgacom said it's doing everything possible to resolve the problems and will communicate further on the results of the investigation and remediation action when possible.
