BigBandwidth, govt award virtual reality grant
BigBandwidth, the University of Alberta and the federal govt have awarded a CDlr1.6 mil to Pierre Boulanger, a researcher at the university who is developing a virtual reality technology for the Internet. The federal govt contribute CDlr895k of the total. The technology will allow people to strap cameras, sensors and microphones to their bodies to meet in real time in a virtual world.
