Road mobility management developer Billoo Development and M2M connectivity provider Telenor Connexion joined forces to begin the testing of real-time traffic data collection in Europe. Under the terms of this project, Billoo's GPS/GPRS-based platform, which is designed to solve road traffic issues, capitalises on the Telenor Connexion global M2M connectivity. Billoo devices use the Telenor Connexion eSIM technology with the Telenor worldwide M2M services and the platform dedicated solely to M2M traffic. Prior to this, large field trials were conducted simultaneously across several countries. Billoo Development said they confirm the accuracy of the simulators used during laboratory testing and all results obtained to date regarding the quantity and speed of data processed including for vehicles moving in urban areas. Billoo has designed its own technology to process all data generated by millions of travelling vehicles, independently of their number and traffic variations. Billoo said successful results have been achieved by exchanging data between vehicles and the Billoo computing centre in a bi-directional manner and by analysing this data in real time.
