BIPT issues guidelines on prepaid registration

The Belgian regulator BIPT has published guidelines for mobile providers on the new requirements to register prepaid customers, following the publication of the related royal decree on 07 December in the official gazette. Operators must record the national ID number or passport number of all prepaid customers before activating a SIM. Existing customers must also register their details within six months, or face deactivation of their SIM.
